How Changing Life Journey Began
Sometimes an idea comes into your life quietly and, for reasons you cannot quite explain, refuses to leave. It does not arrive with a business plan, a roadmap, or even a particularly good explanation of what you are supposed to do with it. It simply settles into the back of your mind and waits for you to figure it out.
That is pretty much what happened with Changing Life Journey.
Many years ago, when I was looking for a way to work from home, the name Changing Life Journey came to me. I remember thinking, “Yes, life really does change from one age to the next.” There was something about that idea that spoke to me, although I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do with it.
The idea stayed. Life, meanwhile, kept doing what life does. There were responsibilities, changes, good seasons, difficult seasons, plans that worked, and plans that apparently had other plans. As the years passed, I began paying more attention to what it actually means to grow older—not simply how many candles are on the cake, but how our strength, energy, confidence, routines, priorities, and expectations change along the way.
Eventually that long-standing idea met another project: Keep Moving Forward. While working on the book, I realized the conversation was much bigger than one manuscript. There were practical questions people were asking, ordinary frustrations we could laugh about, habits worth exploring, and plenty of encouragement that did not require pretending aging was easy.
Changing Life Journey became a place for that conversation. It is for adults who want to stay involved in their own lives—to remain as strong, healthy, independent, curious, and hopeful as their circumstances allow. It is not about chasing youth or creating a perfect version of yourself. It is about paying attention to the life you have now and deciding what you would like to do with it.
That is why you will find practical articles here about movement, food and energy, memory and mindset, independence, everyday life, hope, and purpose. You will also find books, journals, planners, printables, and other resources created to help turn good intentions into choices that fit real life.
Most of all, Changing Life Journey is meant to feel like a conversation with a friend. We can be practical without being bossy, hopeful without pretending everything is easy, and serious about our health without forgetting to laugh at ourselves once in a while.
Your Journey Is Still Unfolding
Growing older changes the journey, but it does not erase the possibilities ahead. There may be things we need to adapt, rethink, strengthen, simplify, or let go of. There are also things still waiting to be discovered.
